That’s about it

Just finished up my last 2am shift on the ice, it was fricking cold this morning. Don’t know what the temperature was but it felt cooler. I have one more shift tonight beginning at 6pm. We will start preparing for the tear down today/tonight, getting an early start on it Monday morning. As long as the weather cooperates, we should have no forseeable problems….just a long day of work.

Then it is the transit back to Longyearbyen. We were told to keep Wednesday morning open since we will be having a crawfish party (Swedish tradition) on Tuesday night. Everybody should be hitting the sauce pretty good, and there really is no major work that our group needs to get finished. I am already planning for a bit of a hangover Wednesday 😉

Happy Labor Day (Monday) to all the americanos! Me and the other Americans onboard thought that we should have Monday off too, but the bosses didn’t like that idea too much. I will take a portion of Tuesday and Wednesday off as compensation..haha.

Little more than one week until I get home, really looking forward to it now.
