Gettin’ it done

Work carries on at 87N. The weather has improved dramatically over the past few days thanks to higher pressure. The fog has cleared out but we still have overcast skies…the forecast is that fog will return as skies clear and the temperatures drop again.

On the ice it has been pretty nice. I am settled into my “shifts” and it is becoming routine. It is quite nice to just turn on my ipod and jam while getting the work done out there. We learned today that departure from the ice will be the 1st of September sometime after dinner. That means we only have a few days left of measurements on the ice until we need to begin tear-down. Seems like we just got everything up and running 😦 .

In the mean time I have been looking at data and trying to make sure things make sense. It seems as those we may have just entered into the freeze-up period, but we will have to wait some more days before it can be said for certain.

Anyways, life is good. Hope it is the same where you are. See you guys soon..
